Shutter Ceremony - Future Rep

For the third render, I wanted to create an image that shows the entrance of the building as it is closing. The shop shutters act as the cladding that is enhanced and highlighted by the atmospheric qualities such as the rain set against the backdrop of an abandoned high street.

💡 Initial Ideas

Above is a reference image from a film that has an interesting quality that can be recreated in a similar way. In particular, I would like to introduce a sense of depth with foreground and middleground objects synonymous with a typical British high street. The quality of shop shutters can further be highlighted in the reflection of rain on the street pavement.

Below is a composite image of an initial idea of what the atmospheric qualities could look like.

The issue with this view is that it seems far too skewed but has a good base for a night time scene.

🚦 Test Renders

Here is a daylight scene of the model in view - this render was simply done to test out the scale of the building as elements within this model will change heavily. I also experiemented with the reflection of the water as a material rather than added in post-production.

1️⃣ Photoshop Test

For this render, I added the rain in post-production as well as changing up the colour palette to be slightly more dramatic to fit the aesthetic of the other renders.

I think there are still areas of improvement like the top left corner which is empty. It would also be a good idea to paint in some rust or moss on the high-street elements to imply that the site is quite old.
